WELCOME  Designed by Hayface What is a CV Anyway? Curriculum Vitae = ‘course of life’ [Latin] Resume = Summary [French] A CV is a sales document intended to get you a job interview. A cover letter introduces  your CV. Your CV gets you an interview. Your interview performance lands you the job. A CV must market you to a prospective employer in the most positive light. Style is as  important as substance as a badly laid out CV will win few interviews. Summarise your  achievements, key points and before structuring your CV be able to answer the following two questions: 1. As an employee how would I create and add value to the prospective employer? 2. What makes me unique from all the other candidates they will be approached by –  what is my USP?  A useful test is to ask yourself the question “So what?” for everything you include in your CV. What are you trying to convey to a prospective employer that is relevant to the job  you are applying for. If it is not relevant or impactful do not include it. Equally, a powerful personal profile statement is a must – grab the attention quickly, draw the reader’s eye to your skills and achievements and always be truthful. You don’t want to be that person who gets found out 2 weeks in to a new job. Bottom line, put yourself in the recruiter’s shoes, would you want to interview you on the  CV put forward?
